- Copywriting - for promotional purposes, e.g. brochures & flyers
- General writing - articles written for publications or the Web, involving research and interviewing
- Copy editing - to check that written work is grammatically and factually accurate, and follows the necessary style of writing
- Proofreading - a vital step that is often overlooked due to time constraints or ignorance - to check for errors before production
